Launch of Digital Population Identity (IKD – Identitas Kependudukan Digital) Collaboration between OCBC and Dukcapil to simplify administrative processes, but also strengthen the security of customer identity data.
Jakarta, Tuesday, February 11, 2025 2025 - OCBC together with the Population and Civil Registration Service of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Dukcapil) announced the launch of the use of Digital Population Identity (IKD) as an official identity document for the account opening process at all OCBC Bank branches. This launch is a form of the Bank's commitment to providing convenience and comfort for customers in accessing banking services, as well as supporting government efforts in digitizing population identity.
With the introduction of IKD, customers can now complete the onboarding process more efficiently without the need to carry a physical electronic ID card (E-KTP). “This innovation enables customers to open an account simply by using the IKD application on their smartphones,” said The Ka Jit, Director of OCBC.
This strategic partnership reflects OCBC’s dedication to enhancing customer convenience in accessing banking services while aligning with the Government’s vision for digital identity transformation.
Mensuseno, SE., M.A., Acting Director of National Population Data Integration at the Directorate General of Dukcapil, stated, “Since the launch of Identitas Kependudukan Digital (IKD) in 2022, our objective has been not only to facilitate data access but also to improve security and efficiency across various public services. We fully recognize that population data serves as a fundamental component in ensuring the accuracy and accountability of all public services, given its singular and verified nature. By expanding collaborations with various stakeholders, including private-sector banks, we aim to create a strategic approach that ensures every citizen gains swift and seamless access to essential services, including banking.”
