Jakarta, October 13, 2023 – Sharia Business Unit (UUS) Bank OCBC NISP celebrated its 14th anniversary with a series of meaningful events throughout October 2023. Coinciding with the commemoration of Sharia Finance Month, this anniversary event series embraces the spirit of #SyariahUntukSemua, which reflects UUS Bank OCBC NISP's commitment to be present in every phase of customers' lives and businesses, with comprehensive sharia products and services. Aligned with this momentum, UUS Bank OCBC NISP launched three new products to enrich services for customers, as well as inaugurating a new sharia branch office to provide increasingly excellent sharia banking services.
Mahendra Koesumawardhana, Division Head of Sharia Business Unit of Bank OCBC NISP said, “Since 2009, UUS Bank OCBC NISP has always provided comprehensive sharia banking services for the community, supported by progressive innovation. At the age of 14, we continue to improve ourselves and strive to level up by presenting sharia products and services that are increasingly relevant to the community. For that, we have poured the spirit of ‘Syariah untuk Semua’ into three new products that we have launched, and presenting a banking service concept that is increasingly familiar, warm, and comfortable at the new sharia branch office.”
Inaugurating the Sharia Branch Office with a New Concept that is More Familiar, Warm, and Comfortable
This new sharia branch office presents an innovation in banking services with a different concept, starting from the banking solutions offered, the team involved, and the atmosphere presented. This branch office is specifically designed to create a banking experience with a familiar, warm, and comfortable atmosphere. Every customer who comes will be greeted and served according to their financial needs, professionally and personally. Customers will gain a new banking experience, supported by reliable selected Bank staff. That way, the transaction process and knowledge sharing between the Bank and customers can run better.
This new branch office is located on the 2nd Floor of OCBC NISP Tower Kuningan, and is the first UUS Bank OCBC NISP branch office with this concept. In the future, UUS Bank OCBC NISP plans to present a similar concept for several branch offices in other cities, to provide increasingly exclusive services for UUS Bank OCBC NISP customers throughout Indonesia.
Launching Three New Sharia-Based Products
In its commitment to become a trusted banking partner for customers with sharia principles, UUS Bank OCBC NISP has launched three new products tailored to customer needs. The products are:
It is a term savings account based on Sharia principles with a Mudharabah Mutlaqah contract with profit sharing agreed upon at the beginning, where monthly deposits are made by auto-debit from a related account in USD currency, namely Tanda iB Multicurrency and Tanda iB Valas USD.
Savings product with Mudharabah Mutlaqah (profit sharing) contract that has additional benefits, namely one account with 12 currencies, with the main currencies being IDR, SGD, USD, and other currencies such as EUR, GBP, AUD, NZD, JPY, HKD, CHF, CAD, CNH that can be adjusted to customer needs. This product allows customers to transact foreign currency purchases either through e-channel facilities or transactions at branches with competitive exchange rates.
UUS Bank OCBC NISP's Sharia Account can now be used as a transaction relation for Retail State Sharia Securities (SBSN), namely Retail Sukuk (SR) and Savings Sukuk (ST) through One Mobile.

In the future, of course we will continue to focus on innovation and development of sharia banking products and services, as well as increasing sharia financial literacy, so that sharia finance can increasingly become an option to answer the financial needs of the Indonesian people,” added Mahendra.
The peak event of the 14th anniversary of UUS Bank OCBC NISP was held on October 12, also attended by Dr. Muhammad Anwar Ibrahim, Chairman of the Sharia Supervisory Board of Bank OCBC NISP and Mohammad Bagus Teguh Perwira, Member of the Sharia Supervisory Board. The invited guests also witnessed the launch of three new products of UUS Bank OCBC NISP, and the inauguration of the Sharia Branch Office with a new look at OCBC NISP Tower Kuningan.
Completing this anniversary series, UUS Bank OCBC NISP also held financial education programs targeting students at universities, one of which was Airlangga University. UUS Bank OCBC NISP also shared happiness through charity activities by visiting and distributing gifts to children at Rumah Yatim, donating to the Islamic Partnership community, and dedicating themselves to renovating mosques/prayer rooms that have been constrained by costs.
